A Prophetic Perspective of Genesis 3:15: Whose Seed are You? Pt. 1

According to the Prophetic Worldview, there are only two people on the planet Earth: The Seed of the Woman and the Seed of Satan. Genesis 3:14-15 narrates the discourse between G-d (Abba), Man (Adam and Eve), and Satan (the serpent):

“ 14 The LORD God said to the serpent,

“Because you have done this,

Cursed are you more than all cattle,

And more than every beast of the field;

On your belly you will go,

And dust you will eat

All the days of your life;

15 And I will put enmity

Between you and the woman,

And between your seed and her seed;

He shall bruise you on the head,

And you shall bruise him on the heel.”

The phrase “your seed” is referring to Satan. The Hebrew word for “seed” is זֶ֫רַע (Zera’) and it always has a genealogical and physiological context in scripture. The underlying activity in scripture (Genesis-Revelation) is the war between these two seeds. These two seeds can come in any ethnicity, complexion, language, dialect, culture, nationality, nation, etc. All the human family ultimately falls into one of these two designations: Seed of the Woman or Seed of Satan.

The seed of Satan is physical, not just spiritual. I want to make sure that is clear. I am not just speaking in a spiritual context; I am saying that there are human beings that are the seed of Satan. For example, Paul, writing to the saints in Thessalonica, stated:

“3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction…” (2 Thes. 2:3 NASB)

Does the antichrist, who is clearly coming as a man, born of a woman, given the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, or is he born with a predetermined assignment as the antichrist? I am of the position that he will be born (or may already be born) with the predisposition ascribed to him in scripture. He is truly the seed and son of Satan. He is called the SON of destruction, and Satan is said to come but to steal, kill and DESTROY.

Christ convicted the Pharisees of being of their FATHER, the devil (John 8:44-45). Scripture also reveals that every seed is after its own kind (Genesis 1:12).

Matthew sets his gospel against the backdrop of a genealogical setting (Matthew 1:1-17) because it was highly important to present Jesus Christ (a genealogical phenomenon) as biologically and genealogically qualified to be the Messiah.

If we were to have our spiritual genealogy written down, what would it reveal?

Would it say,

‘This is the record of the genealogy of (insert name here), a son of a gun, a son of a b**ch, son of murder, son of lust, son of pride, son of greed, son of gossip, son of envy, son of blasphemy, son of hate…son of enmity, son of destruction, son of Satan.’?

With a great portion of our current population seeking ancestry.com, 23 and Me, and other ancestry sites to find out their lineage and bloodline, the eternal question is this, your spiritual genealogy would reveal you are the seed of whom?
